Amy Sparks

FOUNDER

Amy Sparks is a graphic recorder and illustrator who helps organizations visualize and document important conversations, events, and stories by creating wall-sized hand-drawn visuals on the spot. She also creates custom illustrations to explain concepts, visions, and histories.

Amy created her first hand-drawn agenda while working as the executive director of a non-profit in 2014 and became hooked on using visuals to support organizations working for change. With a master's degree in Counseling Psychology, years working as a community organizer, and a brief stint as an illustrator, she went on to do coursework in visual facilitation, scribing, sketchnoting and graphic recording.

Who can benefit from graphic recording? Businesses wanting to increase engagement or learning; community groups needing to document important discussions; organizations involved in strategic planning, and nonprofits hoping to demonstrate their work visually. Amy can generate a piece that helps clarify a conversation, simplify a work plan, or tell a story.  It's a productive way to work, and fun too!

Her clients have included the University of Minnesota, Creative Catalysts, Can Can Wonderland, Fringe Festival, Organic Valley, Target, Xcel Energy, the City of Minneapolis, ACET Inc., MOSES (the Midwest Organic Sustainable Education Services), the Minnesota Fringe Festival, the State of Minnesota Health Care Homes Program, Heart of the Beast, MetroCert, Ever-Green Energy, the Outward Bound, Macalester College, Portage Partners Consulting & Forecast Public Art.
